The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

The Memoirs of Sherlock HolmesThe Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes by Arthur Conan Doyle, Sir

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Never having read any Sherlock Holmes before, this proved to be a real treat! Arthur Conan Doyle, Sir writes in a surprisingly accessible style, given when he was writing. There are very few obscure words or terms, and most of those are quickly discovered in any good dictionary (the one built in to my kobo mini certainly found them all).

The tales related in this book are very much tasters of the characters of Holmes and Watson, who will be instantly familiar to any who have watched good quality movies or TV episodes of Holmes’ cases. In fact, I was surprised at just how comfortable I was reading about such familiar characters.

Definitely a book I would recommend!
